A little bit about myself
Introducing myself
Welcome to Tracks & Tails dog walking service. My name is Julie and I have been a devoted dog-owner for over 40 years, while also raising a family and looking after friends' dogs. I recently retired from a professional career in Childcare to combine my love of dogs with being in the great outdoors, surrounded by nature.
Over the years I have owned a variety of dogs, and in more recent times we have had the absolute crazy company of Spaniels! 'Maggie', our Sprocker Spaniel, is very much part of the family - she's mischievous, though friendly, with a lovely gentle nature.
I live in Exmouth, Devon (UK), with my husband and have two grandsons who regularly visit.
I will spend time getting to know you and your much-loved furry companian, as I know how important it is to trust someone with a beloved family member.
I am DBS checked, fully insured, and hold a Canine First-Aid certificate (Centre of Excellence Diploma) and have completed other relevant dog-care training.
Dog walking
I offer small group walks of no more than four dogs at a time, or solo walks if your dog just prefers to be on its on. The duration of the walk can be an hour or half hour, depending on your preference and your dog's needs. This provides an enriching, fun, social and stimulating experience so that your dog returns home happy, content and energised.
I will only walk dogs off-lead with prior written consent and when I am confident that your dog has good recall with me.
Please Note:
I am passionate about my role and am extremely careful to make sure each dog is happy and enjoys their walk. It is very important to me that the dogs get along with each other, and enjoy their time. I also take the welfare of your dog, that of others that we may meet on the walk, and my own safety very seriously.
I serve Exmouth, Otterton, Budleigh Salterton and nearby villages.
Our Favourite walks
We are fortunate enough to live in a wonderful part of Devon, and so are spoilt for choice for lovely walks and places to explore. The areas we mainly visit are Woodbury Common, Exmouth Beach, Exmouth Estuary and Otterton area. Walks are as much about mental stimulation as physical exercise for a happy, healthy dog. With this in mind, I make every walk or meeting exciting and with plenty of play!
Collection and drop-off is done in a positive, reassuring manner, making sure your dog is towel dried and offered fresh water.
Home boarding
As well as professional dog walking, I offer a home-boarding service for small-medium sized dogs. I only take one dog at a time, or two if from the same household. During their time with me, your dog will enjoy a couple of walks during the day or, if over the weekend, probably a family adventure day out (again, depending on the individual needs and abilities of each dog). There will also be plenty of snuggles on the sofa and home-baked treats if permission is given!

I am licenced and inspected with the local council for home boarding, and also licensed to walk on Woodbury Common - up to a maximum of four dogs, following the 'Pebblebed Dog Code'.
